The Carmen overture was recorded during the sessions for bands second album, 'Crysis' (2014). The band used to open every concert with this tune since their first performance in October 2009. Unfortunately, the track proved not fit the overall concept of 'Crysis' and was therefore left out.

The release date of this single, 25th of October, marks the birth date of it's composer, Georges Bizet. Bizet composed the Carmen opera towards the end of the 19th century, as he was struggeling to reach recognition for his work. Unfortunately he did not achieve the status he was yearning for and shortly after a coldly received premiere of Carmen, he passed away. He died thinking that he was a failure. Not too long after his death Carmen became the most popular opera in the world. 

By performing it, Modest Midget were saluting him for his insistence on writing what he believed in rather than what the contemporary market was demanding.
